PRESS RELEASE
Students launch website selling EcoHomes online
EMBARGO: Not to be published before 7 December 2007
- start -
Find an EcoHome.co.uk - a website advertising accessible, healthy and eco-friendly homes - is celebrating its launch by offering customers free listings.
The company has been set up by two budding entrepreneurs from Kingston University, who felt that "a website like this was long-overdue as Home Information Packs and climate change pushed 'green' homes higher on the political agenda."
To maintain a high quality of advertised homes, the website imposes clear criteria similar to the Government's Code for Sustainable Homes.
"We'll be monitoring this initial period closely to gather further understanding of this emerging market. It's important that we share information and statistics we gather and we welcome discussion with our visitors and other members of the industry," tells co-founder Ricky Thakrar.
Members of the public can search and view homes for free, whilst marketing their homes to let or for sale will cost £79.

About Find an EcoHome.co.uk
Find an EcoHome.co.uk is a company launched in December 2007, allowing developers, estate agents and individuals to buy, sell, let and rent EcoHomes online.
The company's founders are both students of Property Planning and Development BSc(Hons) at Kingston University's School of Surveying.
By adapting existing standards, Find an EcoHome.co.uk has produced a set of minimum criteria to ensure a high quality of EcoHomes.
Homes must exhibit healthy, accessible or eco-friendly characteristics to be included, and the simple minimum criteria checker makes it quick and easy to find out whether a home qualifies.
Find an EcoHome.co.uk appeals directly to people who are looking for healthy, accessible and eco-friendly homes. This more targeted and thorough marketing will hopefully, in turn, increase the speed of sales and the market value achieved for clients.
